Airbnb lets its employees work from anywhere in the world without a pay cut. The new policy will start in June, allowing the employees to work remotely forever.

However, they can only stay abroad for up to 90 days in any 170 countries and will need to maintain a home base in the country where they were hired for tax reasons.

Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky took to Twitter to announce the new policy on Friday, saying every employee of the company can now work from anywhere in the world.

“You can work from anywhere in the world and your compensation won’t change,” Mr. Chesky tweeted.

In a series of tweets, he announces the key features of working at Airbnb.

In one of his tweets, he said the employees have the flexibility to live and work in 170 countries for up to 90 days a year in each location.

Mr. Chesky clarified the new model will come into effect because “the world has become more flexible”

He further said the company wouldn’t have recovered if it had not been for millions of employees working for the company.

Despite the new policy, Mr. Chesky believes that some creativity is best done in the same room. So, along with the new policy for working from anywhere, he also said the employees will meet together. At least four months every year for in-person gatherings.

The CEO said the company will operate on a multi-year roadmap with two major products scheduled to release a year.

“We’ll operate on a multi-year roadmap with two products releasing every year, which will help us work in a highly coordinated way,” he said.

However, the company has not made it clear how it will coordinate its employees for quarterly meet-ups.

Airbnb is an American home-sharing platform that operates an online marketplace for lodging, Homestays, and tourism activities. The company headquarters is in San Francisco, California.
